We're the same agency, under the same ownership, but with a new name and a bold new vision for a world that is more digital and more mobile every day.
A New World
The world has changed and changed again since company CEO and founder Alan Ruthazer first opened the doors of SiiTE Interactive in 2001 with the dream of building a brand agency dedicated to helping leading businesses connect with customers in the digital realm. And, while the name SiiTE was forward-leaning 13 years ago, today the name falls short of suggesting the full realm of possibilities in a world where digital technology touches every aspect of our day-to-day lives.
A New Name for A New Vision
Brands today need to connect with customers across many constantly evolving digital channels. Staying ahead of the curve and staying in-touch with customers is a full-time pursuit. It is our mission to help our clients rise to the top of their industries by creating elegant brand experiences through the most effective digital channels.
Marketers need partners that never run out of energy, ideas, or inspiration. That's who we are. That’s what the name Lightning Jar represents: passion, inspiration, energy, & focus.
The Speed of Innovation Accelerates
My great-grandmother was born in Manhattan in 1901. She lived for 99 years, very nearly the entirety of the 20th century. Her life was transformed by a series of inventions: the radio, the automobile, talking movies, television, penicillin, the telephone, commercial aviation, nuclear energy, instamatic cameras, space travel.... the list goes on and on.
What she missed in the few years since, is nearly as miraculous as what she witnessed in her 99 years on this planet. She witnessed the birth of radio, but she just missed the launch of the iPod in 2001. She witnessed the advent of the telephone; I stood in line for the iPhone when it launched in 2008. She was older than I am now before she owned her first television; I witnessed the launch of the iPad in 2010. She was tickled pink with the digital watch I wore when I visited her as a child. In just a few weeks from now, I hope to own my first Apple Watch.
And while these consumer devices are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of all of the wondrous technological innovations that are happening at the frontiers of science today, each one has shaped our lives, our culture, and the way we interact in increasingly profound ways.
What's in a name? What's in Lightning Jar?
Lightning Jar is about inspiration, wonder, and possibility. It's about that feeling I had when I caught fireflies in a jar in the field behind my great-grandmother's house. It's about the exciting thrill of watching lightning crash through the darkness. It's about wondering where the lightning comes from, and where it goes when it passes. It's about keeping our minds open, curious, inspired, and ready to tackle whatever fantastic magic appears out of the mists of the future to change our lives, the way we do business, and the world as we know it, forever.
A Renewed Commitment to the Transformative Power of Design
Our first iteration of SiiTE.com featured a quote from the great architect, designer, and futurist thinker R. Buckminster Fuller. He said: "When I am working on a problem, I never think about beauty but when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong." That quote rings as true to us today as it did 12 years ago. So even as we constantly expand our vision to include new technologies and emerging trends, we're careful not to lose sight of the truth that lies at the heart of everything we do. Great brand experiences are great user experiences. And great user experiences come from great design. Behind every digital solution is a set of problems to be solved. Solving those problems is what we do best.
Ready for the Future
We can't tell exactly what the future holds, but we can prepare ourselves and our clients to meet it, with joy, wonder, discipline, and a commitment to success. That was our mission from day one, and that's our mission today. We are Lightning Jar. And we can't wait to see what the future holds.
